Did you give birth in hospital, outpatient or at home?
The midwife is also available for you after the birth as soon as it is needed. During this beautiful period, many questions are of course also discussed.
After the birth of your baby, the midwife will visit you at home from the day of delivery (day 0) up to and including day 5 after delivery. From day 6 you are still entitled to 9 home visits up to the age of 1 year. Of course, additional home visits can be arranged if medically necessary.
Mom & baby
For the mother, the midwife checks both vital and obstetric parameters such as blood pressure, temperature, position of the uterus and blood loss. The midwife is also there to help with pain, wound care (removing stitches) and feeding problems.
Contraception is widely discussed if desired in order to make the right choice in choosing a contraceptive.
Your baby's weight, feeding times, navel healing, skin colour, growth and development will be monitored and, if necessary, the blood sample of your baby will be taken between days 3 and 5 after delivery.
The midwife takes extensive time to support you during the feeding moments.
Did you choose to breastfeed or bottle feed? In both cases you can count on the midwife and together we will look for solutions to any problems that may arise.
In addition, the midwife likes to pay attention to the emotional state and getting used to your new family life. The partner is also supported in the care of your little miracle.
De vroedvrouw neemt uitgebreid de tijd om jullie te ondersteunen tijdens de voedingsmomenten.
Hebben jullie gekozen voor borstvoeding of flesvoeding? In beide gevallen kunnen jullie rekenen op de vroevrouw en er wordt samen gezocht naar oplossingen bij eventuele problemen die zich kunnen voordoen.
Hiernaast besteedt de vroedvrouw graag aandacht aan de emotionele toestand en het gewoon worden van jullie nieuwe gezinsleven. Ook de partner wordt ondersteund bij de verzorging van jullie kleine wonder.
